Are EcoTec Homes the same as mobile homes?
EcoTec Homes, unlike mobile homes, are prefabricated using a combination of traditional home construction techniques and commercial grade practices. Your EcoTec Home is soundly built to ensure the utmost protection when being shipped to the final landing location. Unlike mobile homes, our prefabricated homes are permanent structures.
Where is my EcoTec Home being built?
All homes are prefabricated at our facility in Sooke just west of Victoria, B.C. Building in our safe and secure facility allows for the highest level of quality control and waste control reducing impact on the environment.
What makes my EcoTec Home ‘green’?
There are many ‘green’ features in each EcoTec Home. Using prefabrication as a building technique is efficient and greatly reduces waste and impact on the land. As we create each home customized to suit your order, the ‘green’ features you select may vary. However, products we have included in most homes include: Energy Star low-E double-glazed windows, 50 year metal roofs, low flow faucets and toilets, EnerGuide rated appliances, substantial insulation, low VOC paint, composite decking, durable and long lasting exterior and interior finishes.
Is there a warranty on my EcoTec Home?
Every EcoTec Home is engineer inspected and approved a 2-5-10 National New Home Warranty.
What deposit is required?
25% is the initial deposit payment for your home.
What taxes apply to the purchase of a home?
British Columbia HST applies to the purchase of all EcoTec products.
Can I finance an EcoTec Home?
EcoTec Homes can be financed through a construction mortgage, second mortgage or line of credit. We can gladly recommend you to a lending specialist familiar with our product.
What site preparation must be ready before my EcoTec Home can be delivered?
EcoTec Homes arrive ready to be connected to plumbing and electrical services and attached to a foundation. We are pleased to assist you in arranging for the site servicing and we are also able to provide foundation construction services.
How will my EcoTec Home be delivered?
All homes are delivered using insured flat bed trucks. Once on site, we use a crane to hoist and place the home or home pods onto the foundation.
What type of foundation can I use?
Our homes can be placed on concrete crawl spaces, slabs or pilings. Foundation detail is often site specific.
Can I pick my appliances and finishes?
EcoTec Homes and their design team have a great selection of efficient, durable and attractive finishes to select from. Should you wish to customize beyond these choices, we are pleased to work with you to do so.
